Common Dental Assistant Requirements
There are different requirements to become a dental assistant in every state. Here are some of the most common standards that states require.
State Certification Requirements
Some states have a dental assistant exam you must pass before going to work. These exams are usually administered by the state’s medical or dental board.
DANB Certification
The Dental Assisting National Board is a professional organization that supports, educates, and certifies dental assistants. Any dental assistant can get DAMB certified to show their expertise. Some states require this certification as well.
Radiography Training
Dental assistants in some states can perform x-rays on patients. You may need to earn a radiography certification to prove you can safely operate x-ray machines.
CPR Certification
